Target Audience: South Carolina School District teams who are interested in exploring Pyramid Model implementation in kindergarten. The district must either be actively implementing the Pyramid Model in pre-K classrooms OR commit to beginning pre-K implementation as a foundational component of this initiative. Each district must register at least two participants, with a limit up to four participants. We encourage teams to include at least one administrator and one early childhood leader.
This session will introduce Pyramid Model Goes to Kindergarten in South Carolina, including the development of this initiative and its alignment with existing Pre-K Pyramid Model implementation through Pyramid PIECES. Participants will gain an understanding of how kindergarten practices build upon established Pre-K foundations to support social-emotional competence, prevent challenging behaviors, and ensure developmentally appropriate, inclusive learning environments. The session will also address how Pyramid Model practices can be integrated into daily instructional requirements within kindergarten settings. District leaders will learn about implementation expectations, including the requirement for districts to actively engage in Pyramid Model practices at the Pre-K level in order to participate in the kindergarten expansion through Pyramid PIECES. Emphasis will be placed on systems alignment, leadership supports, and sustainable implementation across grade levels to promote positive outcomes for all children.
Lunch will be provided!
